Reflection

Welcome to the "Reflection" page, where I present my reflections on Continuous Professional Learning with responsive S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Reflection holds great importance in my life, and as I strive to make my interactions meaningful and impactful, integral action is largely built on reflection.

To seal this intent, I have placed my artwork featuring the symbol for the element of water which correlates to the winter season of inward inspiration, feelings, intuition, dreams, emotional intelligence and reflective expression.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals

Children

In order to foster engaged relationships with the children in my care, I will actively encourage and design activities to scaffold learning through the vein of their interests over a period of six weeks at my childcare centre.

Families

In order to establish a culture of family belonging, I will implement multiple avenues of engagement in my family involvement initiatives within the first month at my childcare centre.

Colleagues

In order to organize in-profession advocacy circles at my place of work, I will establish a repor with my colleagues and assist in organizing or creating social events that prompt further bonding over shared goals over a period of two and a half months.

Community

In order to contribute to the organization and implementation of beneficial action in my community, I will locate and link or partner with an organization in my community (like a community garden) with a shared value within a year at my childcare centre.

Environment

In order to work towards a restorative relationship with nature with responsible approaches to continued learning and expressive reflection, I will launch a collaborative and creative research group for the wider community (including children and families at the centre), within five months at my childcare centre.

Strategies For Success

Children

I will institute a caring environment that maximizes their comfortability to express themselves, and I will observe their expressed interests to form creative responsive plans.

Families

I will encourage the feeling of belonging with family involvement techniques in small ways like list of things to talk about with their child(ren) that they did or enjoyed that day, along with invitations to participate in longer projects with several varied ways to engage.

Colleagues

I will build connections with discussion and socialization opportunities like small events where our unique gifts and expertise are shared amongst the team, and use my organizational skills and willingness to speak up intentionally to help my colleagues shine and uplift their ideas in conjunction with mine.

Community

I will conduct research to locate an organization in my community (like a community garden) with a shared value or mission, and in collaboration organize events that bring community members together to take beneficial action in a place we all use or visit.

Environment

I will keep up a responsible research practice by making spread sheet with 1 or 2 sources for research a week, and an expressive reflective practice by prompting creative and open-ended ways to unpack key takeaways from the research.
